At first glance, Marshall’s fountain circle might seem like nothing more than a prettier alternative to a traffic light. In fact, it was a given to the city from one of Marshall’s most important benefactors, Harold C. Brooks, in 1930 for the town’s centennial celebration. On summer nights, the Brooks Fountain still wows passers-by with its beautiful displays of colored lights.
Fun Fact
Marshall’s iconic fountain is a replica of the “Temple of Love” in Marie Antoinette’s garden at Versailles, France.
